Social Media and Networking

It is common knowledge that the world keeps its balance of good and bad. Some of us focus on the good out there and how to spread the word. For those of you interested in good information, freebies, the Web and social networking, etc, I have a great document given to me last Fall for free. There are many venues explaining how to do this. Yes, some even Free. I included the document at my website since I do not know how to load such a large file here. Good luck... I do not understand why it does not accept the link (frustration)) so just go to my website and click on links. It is posted there: www.ednasantiago.com

Best thing on a hot day

The Color of Heat

The Temperatures today reached 106 degrees according to the thermostat in my car. The temperature it read, while sitting in the dark of a parking garage x 2 hours was 102.
I braved the elements and met with my ARTsisters (monthly business meeting). It was worth every degree!

I once went to Dallas for a wedding, and the temperature there was 113 degrees... the sky was yellow, the grass was yellow, the heat felt yellow. No one was to be seen, everyone was locked up in their homes and cars, offices with the AC or fan blowing the heat as far away as possible.

No birds in the sky, no children playing outside, no one walking the sidewalks. It was eerie, like a Twilight zone episode. That was then and there.

Today was too close to Texas for comfort.... Back to my Air conditioned house.

I am so confused...

Truth be told, I am a little confused right now. I only started painting a little over 3 n 1/2 yers ago and things are moving very quickly. Today I finally set up my webpage and did a search to find where I am in the marketing of the site. After polishing EdnaSantiagoArt for a year, I let it drop and someone else took the webname. So...that one is on top and I was alover the place. I searched for painting by Edna Santiago and discovered I was in an article written by Don Brewer on the Philadelphia Sketch club exhibit at Newman Galleries (http://www.brewermultimedia.com). There it was, my painting "Museum Stroll". the very one in my blog, as a sample of the works at the show. I do not get it. I am mostly self taught and do not paint in realism or on themes of barns and fields. But there is the painting, of which I am so proud to present, offered to the world to see on someone elses page. You want to be found; want to be recognized but no one warns you of the embarassment you feel when it happens. I struggled because I did not paint like others and finally accepted my color choices and topics. I can stop comparing myself and continue to focus on what I feel when I paint. Now just keep repeating to yourself: Am I there yet? Am I having fun? ()

BACK HOME!

Gone for a month, mail sorted out (house mail and PO box)and ready to face the world! It is amazing how much work we did and I did only one painting to show in a months time. Weather here in PA is wonderful, 75 degrees and sunny. I have sorted out the responsibilities, professional and personal, and the list is lengthy but it always feels good to work.

Now I need to go to the Newman gallery to see the exhibit I have entered (while in PR) and quickly since I believe the 9th is the last day. I feel charged and ready. The teacher apprenticeship I accepted is starting for me 7/6. I do need to prioritize my website this month, and nothing else will be accepted!
I hope my friends and family feel as blessed as I do. One to continue my tasks! see you later. Please make a comment on anything you would like for me to write about.
